So, we’ve put together a list of some of the best songs to give your winter wedding a festive feel without Christmas becoming more of a focus than your vows!
#1 - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Sam Smith
This is an absolute classic when it comes to Christmas, but it is such a beautiful song at the same time. It would be a great song for the end of the night when you’re saying goodbye to your guests as it sends them off with a lovely message.
There are plenty of versions of this tune, but our favourite has got to be this incredible rendition from Sam Smith.
#2 - The Power of Love – Gabrielle Aplin
While this song features precisely zero references to Christmas, we can’t help but associate it with the festive period! This makes it a perfect track for a winter wedding as you’ll get that magic feeling without it seeming a little on the tacky side.
The Power of Love was originally recorded by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, but we love this haunting version from Gabrielle Aplin.
#3 - Glasgow Love Theme (PM’s Love Theme) – Craig Armstrong
This beautiful piece of music was written for the movie, Love Actually, so it makes a perfect addition to a winter wedding. It has actually become a popular option for brides to walk down the aisle to.
We love this version from the Vienna Radio Symphonic Orchestra who perfectly convey the emotion and power of the song.
#4 - Somewhere Only We Know – Lily Allen
We can’t say that Christmas adverts aren’t powerful! Not only do they make us want to splash our cash, they also have the power to turn any song into a Christmas song! Cue Lily Allen’s rendition of Somewhere Only We Know, originally released by Keane. This pretty song now gives us that Christmassy feeling without mentioning Christmas once.
There’s something quite intimate and romantic about this song, so it’s a great option for a first dance.
We didn’t need any more reasons to love Christmas, but these festive songs just give us that warm fuzzy feeling that you get at the most wonderful time of the year!
