The Talent was started in March 1997 by Barrie 'Baggy' Trower who enlisted to help of 3 musicians. The original idea was to create a hugely entertaining band that performed classic party music and was ultimately a lot of fun.

Word soon got around and bookings started coming in from clubs & pubs, wedding couples & corporate events all over the county and beyond.

10 years on and The Talent has worked hard to develop an unrivalled sound and one of the liveliest stage shows around. These qualities, an ever-increasing repertoire (500 songs and growing) and the bands focus on entertaining make for a live music performance not to be missed.

The Talent now prides itself on being one of the hardest working bands in the country and regularly perform 3-4 nights a week all over the UK & Europe supporting named artists, entertaining clients at both private & corporate events or simply rocking out at your local boozer. The Talent are so much more than just a band, they perform the whole spectrum of dance music from the 50s through to present day chart hits. This has earned them the reputation as one of the most exciting party bands in the country. The Talent gives its own special treatment to hits from all decades, excellent state-of-the-art sound, light and multimedia systems to make a great all round entertainment spectacular, one that audiences remember for a very long time.

Along the way the guys in The Talent have appeared and played with Jools Holland, Robbie Williams, Westlife, ABC, Bucks Fizz, Heatwave, Boney M, Simon Webb, Thunder, Bonnie Tyler, Shakespeare’s Sister, Big Brovaz, Tony Christie & (un-ashamedly) Ant & Dec. They have also worked & performed at some of the countries top venues including Wembley, Royal Albert Hall, Earls Court, Birmingham N.E.C. and Sheffield Arena.

After a few years The Talent had performed for over 400 happy private & corporate clients and found they were turning a lot of work away due to not be able to be in two places at the same time. This led to the conception of Hitched, a guitar led 3 or 4 piece band with the same repertoire, style and sound as The Talent.

Before we knew what was happening The Talent had spawned a whole agency and regularly hire out over 200 soloists, duos, bands and DJs, and so Monitor Music was born. Hitched quickly gained a reputation as a leading wedding band whilst The Talent continued to provide the best quality live music that can be found.

Since those early days Monitor Music has created two more bands Smooth Grooves (Jazz & Swing) and the popular agency managed band Fatally Flared (70’s tribute).
